I Ain't No Cinderella.

Hey Lovelies!

I hope y'all are enjoying your weather, wherever y'all may be! I am for sure enjoying the weather so far this summer here in our part of Texas...because typically this time of year it's 102 with 100% humidity and last week it was 85 degrees! I mean really?! Does it get any better than that?! We were outside as much as we could be last week because it felt great for my ass not to be sweating. But with being outside I feel like I have to be listening to music...which then usually goes with an adult beverage in my hand. They just all go together, you know!? 

But, back to listening to music...I have came to discover that I am in a more willing/pleasant mood if I listen to music while cleaning...working out, working on my tan or just about anything! There's something about turning the music up super loud while scrubbing the bathtub that makes me feel less like Cinderella's bitch and more like the badass wife/mom I am! :) So I want to share some of the songs on my playlist with y'all....because I effin expect all y'all to feel like badasses!

Bitch by Meredith Brooks did not make the list. If you ask a couple of people it probably needed too...      Fergie - Glamorous Now, I know this is the first song you ALLL think of when you think about me. Hahaha! "I'm no queen, I'm no machine, I still go to Taco Bell drive thru." BEST. LYRICS. EVERRR.  

  Jason Aldean - She's Country Well. I'm country, half the time. It just depends on what day it is, some days I like being a complete utter, beer drinking redneck and other days I prefer martinis and sushi in Dallas Uptown.  Weird.  I know.

  Eli Young Band - Small Town Kid Love. Love, this song! We played this song a lot while growing up in my population 2600 hometown.  

  Randy Rogers Band-Fuzzy This song is a good description for the MANY of nights I've had in my 28 years of age.

Hey! This week I decided I was going to take this shiznit back to 2004, the year I graduated high school. The good 'ol glory days. I was 18, had a silver camaro and I didn't ever hesitate to jam my favorite songs through that purple lighted CD player back in the day. Today I've traded the camaro for a mid-size SUV, glares from minivan moms and sweatpants. Whomp. Whomp.     Anywho, there were so many kickass jams from 2004 that I had a hard time picking so I may have to continue this theme for a few months weeks, to make sure I go over them ALL.    *Control your excitement*     Chingy ft. Ludacris and Snoop Dogg (Now known as Snoop Lion)-Holidae In I had this on a burned CD, yes I said CD not tape. I'm not that vintage. Chingy's flip phone in the video sure does take me back to my days of owning that cool Nokia but wanting the new Motorola Rzr.   Maroon 5-This Love Can Adam Levine do wrong? I mean really?! He could sing about unicorns and shoe laces and I would still tell him with a smile on my face "That song was totally AH-MAZING!"

  Kelis-Milkshake I still frequently sing this song. Mainly because Taylor Swift and Rihanna can't come out with anything that compares to this JAM! :)

Baby Bash ft Frankie J-Suga Suga  

I remember riding around with my girlfriends with this song on repeat. Growing up in a small country town that's what we did, among other things that I would not like to share. :) But I really think because of this song is why  the word "Fly" became so annoying popular back in the day.        Beyonce-Naughty Girl Do I even have to address any song from Beyonce. It's BEYONCE. Enough said.

I just had to read the title of the song and I knew I would love it. I'm that simple, folks.
What I do not love is...there is a payphone in this video, first off...I could not tell you the last time I saw a phone booth. Secondly, it shows Mike Eli with a cellphone? Really?!

But then again I'm the one that downloaded her music so who am I to judge.

This week has BLOWN by...and not in a good in way, mainly because I need more time to get everything done in my life!! So apologizes for this week's Five on Friday linkup with Darci @ The Good Life being somewhat thrown together.

Last week's Five on Friday, I saw Megan @ Barefoot & Blue Jean Princess post about 5 songs she's loving right now. Sooo with me being short on time and letting her know in advance I was gonna steal her idea (Thanks again, Doll!) I came up with 5 of my ALL TIME favorite jams! 

 

Mike Ryan-Won't Let it Show
Mike played the Hubs and I's wedding reception and then acoustic during the ceremony. So, I think we will always be supporters of his music because he shared with us, one the most important days we have together! Bonus, he's a Texan! :)

Adam Hood-Buzzes Like Neon

You can't go wrong with ANYTHING Adam Hood! Period. This song is older and doesn't have a music video to go along but you get the idea..

Ryan Bingham- Southside of Heaven

This year during our annual hog hunting tournament, this was the song I was singing at 5:30am of the hunt and we ended up winning the tournament so this of course has to be my "lucky" song.

Side Note: For all you viewers of  "The Bridge" on FX, that would be Ryan Bingham singing in the intro... 

Turnpike Troubadours-Gin, Smokes, Lies

I love pretty much everything these Oklahoma boys put out...But this song is for sure my favorite from them!

Mike McClure- Lucky Man

Mike McClure was one of the first artist that my awesome hubby wanted me to listen to when we were dating because he loved so much of his music. I remember 7 years or so when we use to spend Sunday Funday together fishing and drinking, he played this song. Which by then I was already a fan of Mike McClure so from then on out this song has been a favorite of mine!
